中国是茶叶的发源地，在茶叶的种植、生产、加工、消费等方面始终占全球首位，但长期以来，我国在茶叶国际标准化建设方面进展滞后。

近日，由安徽农业大学茶树生物学与资源利用国家重点实验室主任宛晓春教授牵头制定的国际标准ISO 20715：2023《茶叶分类》正式颁布，标志着我国六大茶类分类体系正式成为国际共识，这是我国在茶叶标准国际化领域取得的具有里程碑意义的成果。

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) recently released a document from Chinese experts classifying tea into six types. The standardization work was led by Wan Xiaochun, professor and director of the State key laboratory of tea plant biology and utilization at Anhui Agricultural University.

该项国际标准根据茶叶加工工艺和品质特征，将茶叶分为红茶、绿茶、黄茶、白茶、青茶、黑茶六大类。

那么，问题来了。既然在英语中“black tea”指红茶，那么“黑茶”该怎么说？

既然“green tea”指绿茶，那么“青茶”该怎么说？

这项国际标准正式将六大类茶的英文名称确定为：

红茶black tea

红茶可细分为:

传统红茶 orthodox black tea

红碎茶 broken black tea

工夫红茶 congou black tea

小种红茶 souchong black tea

绿茶green tea

绿茶可细分为：

炒青 pan-fried green tea

烘青 roasted green tea

晒青 sun-dried green tea

蒸青 steamed green tea

碎绿茶 broken green tea

抹茶 matcha tea

白茶可细分为：

芽型白茶 bud white tea

芽叶型白茶 bud-leaf white tea

与白茶一样，黄茶也分为芽型黄茶和芽叶型黄茶。

没错，青茶就是乌龙茶。

普洱熟茶 ripen pu-erh tea

其他黑茶 other dark teas

这六大茶类还可以被继续加工或再加工，用于生产花茶、茶砖和速溶茶等产品。

The six tea types can be further processed or reprocessed to create products such as scented tea, compressed tea, and instant tea.

其实，早在1979年，我国茶学高等教育创始人之一的安徽农业大学陈椽教授就提出了这六大茶类的茶叶分类方法。

这个分类方法奠定了现代茶叶科学分类的基础，并被广泛认可和应用，但未以标准的形式进行规范，直到今年三月这项国际标准的正式颁布。

Chen Chuan, a pioneer in tea science for higher-education, and professor with Anhui Agricultural University, put forward the classification standard in 1979. It has been widely adopted since then but had not become an international standard until March, when the document was released.

2008年，自我国成立全国茶叶标准化技术委员会以来，宛晓春教授作为中国茶叶专家代表团主要负责人，联合来自其他国家的31位茶叶技术专家，按照ISO标准制修订规则共同协商制定，将中国六大茶类的分类体系上升为ISO国际标准。

For the newly released international standard, professor Wan Xiaochun has been leading a team of Chinese experts and has cooperated with 31 others from different countries since 2008 for the compilation.

该项国际标准的发布可更好地促进消费者、茶贸易商以及政府对于不同茶类制作技艺的理解。

The classification will allow consumers, world tea traders and governments to have a clear understanding of the different types of tea through their processing techniques.

全球产茶国家和地区达60多个，饮茶人口超过20亿。2019年11月，联合国宣布将每年5月21日确定为“国际茶日”。

Tea is produced in more than 60 countries and regions worldwide and enjoyed by over two billion people. In November 2019, the United Nations declared May 21 as International Tea Day.

2022年11月，“中国传统制茶技艺及其相关习俗”被成功列入联合国教科文组织人类非物质文化遗产代表作名录。

In November of 2022, traditional tea processing techniques and associated social practices in China were inscribed onto the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
